The wood shop class is preparing for their second project of the year. They will be building double benches made from pressure treated lumber that will be stained and sealed with a UV sealer. They will cost $130 per bench. These would be great outside on your porch, in a classroom as a special place for students to read, or even in hallways and libraries. If you would like to purchase one, please contact Ron Motley at ron.motley@seagravesisd.com.

The middle school student council will be holding a food drive from November 10th through November 20th. There will be a competition between the 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. The winning grade will receive a hot chocolate party on November 21st.

Mindful Minutes with Mrs. Davila...Digital Wellness
Hey everyone! Let’s talk about something that’s part of all our lives — our phones, our screens, our feeds. They’re amazing, right? You can connect with friends, learn anything, create, laugh, explore. But sometimes, without even noticing, our screens start running us instead of the other way around.
Think about it — how many times do you open your phone “for a second” and then realize 30 minutes just disappeared? That’s not your fault. Apps are literally designed to keep you hooked. Every ping, every scroll, every notification is trying to steal a little piece of your attention.
But here’s the good news: you’ve got the power to take it back. Digital wellness isn’t about ditching your phone — it’s about owning your time. It’s choosing to use tech to build your life, not blur it.
Try setting limits. Take a few minutes each day to unplug, to be fully present — with friends, outside, doing something real. When you control your screen instead of letting it control you, you start to feel more focused, more confident, more you.
Remember — your attention is one of the most valuable things you have. Don’t give it away for free. Use your tech to create, connect, and grow — not to compare or lose yourself in the scroll.

Good morning, Eagles! This is Mrs. Moore with a Moore Mindful Minute…
Our character values that we are using to build good habits are respect, the Golden Rule, cooperation, gratitude, and last week we talked about having courage. We are going to continue building our hearts and minds for good things by learning more about “Courage” and what it looks like when we act with courage.
Winne the Pooh once said:
People who don’t THINK probably don’t have brains; rather they have
grey fluff that’s blown into their heads by mistake.
Well, you all definitely do NOT have grey fluff inside your heads! LOL! Each of you have a wonderful brain! And at school, you can choose to learn how to think in a positive way with your brain. You can choose what you think about, good or bad.
When you are older, you will have important responsibilities and decisions to make that require a great deal of thinking. As an 18-year-old American citizen, you will have the right to vote. However, before you vote, you will need your good character and positive habits with your thinking skills to help choose laws and elect our country’s, state’s, town’s, and school’s leaders. These are very important and courageous decisions that every good citizen gets to help make.
So keep learning how to make good habits by learning HOW TO THINK, because when you are older, our country, state, town, and schools will need you to be a responsible and courageous voter.
You are in charge of the choices you make, whether there are good consequences or bad. Be courageous today or not…the choice is yours.
